Machines

This is me with the Detachment Hooks we have on display at the South Wales Miners' Museum, they were used at the Empire Colliery in the Vale of Neath. Detaching Hooks came into general use in 1872 and were used in conjunction with Capels to prevent over winding by the winding engine at the Pit top.
